Vaca Valley Raceway Trophy 1060
This trophy shown above was awarded to a Jugger by the Juggers in 1960, the year the club ran Vaca Valley Raceway.
Shown above is the original sign which hung in the Juggers Garage at 215 Hatch Lane in Burlingame, CA for about 15 years - from approximately 1955 to 1970. It hung on the north wall of the garage by the coffee machine. The shop was about 2600 square feet, and held 10 to 12 cars at any one time. Both Joe Carbone's car and Jim Hensel's rear engine dragster were built in that garage.
Below is an article that appeared in Gearhead magazine, Issue 8, 1998. It is an interesting narrative, complete with many photos, of part of the early history of the Juggers Racing Team. It has photos of Bonneville, Half Moon Bay and San Jose. Many more are mentioned in the article. Bob and Jim “Big Bear” Hensel, Harold Hungerford, Bill McPhillips, Joe Carbone and “Snyder” among others are either quoted, pictured or mentioned.
Bear with me while I attempt to get the image larger so you can actually read it.
The first installments of our history consist of interviews which took place at the annual Juggers Picnic in July of 2011. The videos are posted on YouTube. Search Juggers Racing Team. Links to these videos are presented here. We hope you enjoy them.
